July 9th Updates

Dear Choir, WELCOME BACK! We have now resumed our Wednesday night rehearsals at 6:15 pm. There is new music to pick up, so please make sure you have the pieces on the sign in table, if you missed last night’s practice.

Just a few updates from John and Ann.

1) Reminder: Brian has set up a special access code for us to enter the building during off hours when we have special events, practices, Evensong, etc. The door closest to the offices on the West side has a keypad. Our new code is 1119* To maintain security, please don’t share this beyond our choir members.

2) July 13th: The Quintet will be singing. Choir members are asked to meet at our usual time to help lead music at the 10:20 worship service.

3) July 20th: The Ensemble will sing “In My Heart” at both traditional services. Choir will be with them to lead music at the 10:20 service. Also…The choir will be providing dinner for Grace Church that evening. Please contact Ann if you haven’t yet signed up to fix a casserole or serve the dinner.

4) July 27th: There will be a special Candel light service at 5 PM. We will be singing “Down to the River to Pray” (p.s. for now we will be ‘prayin’ until John decides we need to add the ‘g’. ) If you weren’t at practice, I’m sure that will make no sense.

5) We will also be singing “Down to the River to Pray” for the anthem the following Sunday morning, August 3.

6) John has made a special request that we invite others to join our choir. We are a mighty group, but can use more singers to grow our family.

Please keep the following members of our choir family in your prayers:

  • Jackie has requested prayers as her daughter and her family travel to Turkey for a wedding. Also, her mother Mavis has fallen and needs prayers that the injury is not serious.

  • John will begin Botox injections in mid-July to help correct the spasms in his vocal chords.

  • Jim Parr continues to need prayers while he is undergoing dialysis. He is hoping to return to choir soon.

  • Shirley will be having shoulder surgery in Dallas this Fall
